Mantas, coral and dragons
New for midsummer 2019, Aqua-Firma will be running a Komodo Manta Ray Research, Coral Triangle & Dragons expedition.
Leaders will be co-founder of the Marine Megafauna Foundation (MMF) and professional photographer Dr Simon Pierce; and Aqua-Firma marine scientist and former Reef Check representative in Indonesia, Charlotte Caffrey.
Aqua-Firma has been operating whale shark and manta ray research and photography expeditions around the globe for 12 years, helping to subsidise international researchers and local teams in Madagascar, Mexico and Tanzania.
One of the MMF’s research priorities in Komodo is assessing the impacts of microplastics on manta rays.

The expedition runs from 15-24 June, starting and finishing in Bali, and costs £1990. This includes accommodation, internal transport and local flights and three meals a day.
Aqua-Firma can provide tailor-made trip extensions throughout Indonesia and beyond if required.
