Dive and chat in Cozumel
The Cozumel Scuba Fest in the popular Mexican resort runs from 27 November to 1 December and consists of diving the “Scuba Fest Route” in the mornings (two dives a day for four days), expert presentations on current topics such as coral-reef threats, a scuba exhibition and cocktail events each evening.
Presentations can be made in both English and Spanish but are live-translated. The total cost for the event including diving, conferences and receptions is US $579.
The Scuba Fest Route was founded in 2013 by Jean-Michel Cousteau. It includes Punta Francesa, which is said to have been renamed after his mother.

At the end of the four days of diving, participating divers receive an official logbook and are named as Friends of the Reef.
The conference itself takes place at the Westin Hotel, where rooms start at $165 a night, though the organisers say there are many other accommodation options for attendees in Cozumel, including Air BnB.
