Afloat in the Azores

Saildive offers mid-Atlantic liveaboard diving around the Azores from a new Lagoon 450F catamaran set up to take eight guests, particularly small groups.

It operates seven-night trips from Saturday to Saturday with 14-16 dives, typically visiting Princess Alice Bank for one or two days, looking out for blue and mako sharks and taking in, it says, offshore reefs, protected areas, caves and wrecks.

You get four meals a day and when not diving a variety of watersports are on offer from the liveaboard, including sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and waterski-ing, while dolphin encounters and whale-watching are said to be further possibilities.

Prices range from 1800 euros pp (two sharing) in low season (April, May and October) to 2150 euros in high season (July and August).
