Tour operator Aqua-Firma is encouraging photographers who have visited Galapagos to enter a contest for which it is sole sponsor, the Galapagos Conservation Trust photography competition.

Of the seven categories, it says that Underwater, Environmental Threats, Animal Behaviour and Up Close & Personal will be of particular interest to divers.

Those who have yet to visit might be too late to enter the 2019 contest, but if they wish to participate in future events Aqua-Firma is of course ready to help, with its guided Shark Insights & Photography dive liveaboard trips.

15 June 2019

These run from 19-26 August this year, 7-14 September in 2020 and 6-13 September in 2021.

They will be led by whale shark research photographer Dr Simon Pierce, co-founder of the Marine Megafauna Foundation, and cost from US $5590pp without flights.

For help with surface and snorkelling photography there will also be a land-based Wildlife, Marine Life & Photography trip from 15 August this year, hosted by Pierce and Aqua-Firma Director Ralph Pannell and costing £1690pp.
