Dive RAID International (DRI) has stepped into a totally new market space with the launch of its Public Safety Diver, an entry-level diver and instructor programme.
“It's a departure from the what RAID is known for, but we've managed to recruit experienced PSD team leaders and believe the programme they have helped to create meets the same high standards we follow in our recreational and technical programmes,” said DRI CEO, Sabatino Bianco.
“Our members have been asking us to expand into PSD, and we're very pleased to support those members who are currently operating or are planning to operate a Public Safety Dive Team the RAID Way,” he said.
RAID's PSD course is open to interested divers of 18 years or older who are certified as a RAID Explorer 30 or RAID Advanced 35 diver (or equivalent). However, they must also be part of a Public Safety Organization or a volunteer member of a team under the direct supervision of an agency.
This training complies with OSHA and NFPA regulations.
