The coronavirus pandemic is back on an upward trend in Poland in recent days, and one year on, the third wave of infections has begun – and Santi Diving has once again stepped up to assist local hospitals in the fight against COVID-19.
To support the frontliners once again, Santi has decided to donate and deliver more orange protective suits of various sizes on a complimentary basis to help local hospitals battle the COVID-19 virus.
Last Friday, Santi donated nearly 300 protective suits amounting to more than PLN 100,000 to the Emergency Medical Service at F. Ceynowa Specialized Hospital in Wejherowo, Gynecology and Obstetrics Ward of the University Clinical Centre in Gdansk, and a temporary hospital at the AmberExpo in Gdansk.
With the suits, the healthcare professionals – those at the frontline in the fight against the coronavirus to safeguard the lives of those affected – will be able to protect against the infection and provide help to those who fall ill.
Santi’s Agnieszka Szymczyk said: “Our sewers are wonderful people who willingly joined the initiative. It would not amount to much if it was not for them behind making it happen. Thanks to their mobilization, hard work and full commitment, the team of Santi Diving and Santi Workwear finished sewing the suits in a short period of time, which allowed the prompt handover of the protective equipment to hospitals.
“This is not the first donation – last year we decided to use our long-term expertise in drysuit manufacture to join the nationwide #BusinessSupports action by donating the suits for initial testing and preliminary assessment in order to best protect the medical personnel.”
SANTI ProSafe full body protective suit
The main task of the Santi protective suit is to protect the wearer against external factors and minimalize their exposure to infectious micro-organisms and hazardous materials. It is a product fully designed by Santi’s team of specialists. Fully waterproof and equipped with additions such as a thumb loop, an extra outer collar on the leg to prevent dirt from getting into work boots, a foot loop to keep the leg in the right position, a splash-proof zipper and welts on the legs, sleeves and hood. The reusable protective suits are made of waterproof fabric with an easily washable PU outer coating. The suits are also designed to allow for additional external markings.
“First of all, the suits are soft, made with precision and attention to detail. They do not restrict movement and when driving and wearing the mask, when I turn around, I can fully control my movements unlike other suits that we also use. The thumb loops are very practical and helpful; and the leg loops – when I get out of the car, nothing pulls up. In other coveralls, when getting out of the car, the suit is pulled up to halfway up my calves. It seems fine, but when I sit down and work in it, it pulls up. We have a place for decontamination, where we can clean and disinfect the suits and reuse them. In the beginning, we used only your protective suits. Frankly speaking, you saved our lives,” said Mariusz Dąbrowny from the Emergency Medical Service at F. Ceynowa Specialist Hospital in Wejherowo.
