Stones mean prizes at Chesil

Chesil

Picking out particular stones under water at pebbly Chesil Cove might be seen as a challenge, but plenty of scuba divers and snorkellers are expected to be up for it when the second annual O’Three Treasure Hunt takes place at the Dorset dive-site over the weekend of 10/11 August.

Local dive-suit and accessories manufacturer O’Three plans to hide nine red and one gold stone for the underwater treasure-hunters to try to find.

Stones mean prizes, and any diver who recovers one of the 10 over the weekend can bring it in to O’Three’s headquarters at Osprey Quay in nearby Portland to exchange for a range of O’Three-branded prizes.

The Gold Stone Prize, worth £995, is an MSF500tb Flex grey drysuit “off the peg, made to fit”.

Red Stone Prizes are also valuable. Three of them are numbered, with number 1 entitling the finder to claim a £383 package of four products – a 65 blue semi-dry suit, Classic semi hood, Zipperless Flex boots and T-Flex gloves.

The Red Stone 2 prize package is similar to 1 but with a GBS 3mm one-piece wetsuit replacing the semi-dry, the four items together worth £293. Red Stone 3 entitles the finder to a Deepskin Shortjohn and Deepskin Tech Vest, worth £140 combined.

The other six red stones are not numbered, each one offering the finder a package of towel, cap, T-shirt, 25-litre dry bag and stickers worth £64.

The event is free to enter – register your interest and follow news about the weekend on Facebook.
