#askmark. Mark when traveling and diving from charters is it reasonable to assume the charter operator will have everything on board to “save a dive” so that you don’t have to bring a SAD kit on the plane? With wrenches, screw drivers, DIN adapters etc it can easily add up to 1 to 2 kilos of weight in your luggage.

Hi mark. since I watched your video about the long hose configuration set up, I am interesting to change my set up from standard set up to long hose set up. I was wondering which hose length would suite me best 150 or 210 for a single tank as I have smaller body size. thanks #askmark

150cm is probably the best length for you unless you’re planning to dive in overhead environments. The best way to double check is to get a piece of string and see how it wraps in place when you’re kitted up.
If you’re a smaller diver, then 210 may have a lot of excess slack that you need to manage

I generally bring a Tarantool dive tool, a set of service kits for my Apeks first and second stages (they weigh almost nothing but keep them dry), batteries for my computers and transmitters, silicone grease, spare drysuit seals, a drysuit repair kit and a screwdriver to adjust my tank bands.

#askmark Hi, I’ve been diving for ages and have always struggled with ear infections, how do you rate Docs Proplugs? Are there alternatives? Thanks,Gavin

Have you tried other swim ear preventions and treatments? Otitis externa is the usual reason and is caused when water gets into your ear canal and the tissues swell. Then nasties can find their way into the cracks and irritate.
Tea tree oil can coat the inside of your ear before the dive to help prevent the water from reaching the skin and post-dive drops can dry up any water still inside as well as kill some of the nasties inside.

Some divers do use Pro Plugs but DAN have stated: _There is not enough data or evidence to recommend the use of plugs for divers. The risks of complications underwater from malfunction or removal of an earplug are real and can potentially place the diver at increased risk for injury._
