Technical diver, deep wreck diver, CCR and cave diver Yana Stashkevich will be giving a glimpse inside the ambitious Vickers Wellington Project, which aims to showcase a real hidden gem of the Aegean depths, when she takes to the Tech Stage at the GO Diving Show in March.
Yana Stashkevich is rapidly making a name for herself when it comes to exploration dives. She was a member of the Vaggfjellan XI expedition exploring the cave system located beyond the Arctic Circle, with an entrance on a slope of a Norwegian fjord, and she was a rebreather diver on the Underwater Filming & Research (UFR) project team documenting some of the world’s best preserved wrecks in Greece.
Currently, Yana is actively involved in deep wreck exploration projects in the Aegean Sea, and promoting the maritime heritage of Greek waters.
Over the past ten years she has dived in over 35 destinations across three continents, all while balancing a career as a full-time global marketeer. She is currently working for the world’s most-valuable whisky brand, The Macallan.
UK-based Yana has an infectious amount of energy and enthusiasm and is a regular speaker and coach – she is passionate about inspiring people to push their boundaries and pursue their passion, whatever it may be.
Wartime tales
Yana will be recounting her adventures from Greece, where she took part in numerous deep wreck identification dives, including on a Vickers Wellington bomber – a true time capsule believed to be the best-preserved airplane wreck of its class.
While most of the World War Two wrecks are a reminder of how fragile human life can be, the Vickers Wellington, on the contrary, captures an incredible survival story. The crew sklilfully ditched the aircraft after being shot down and were rescued by the locals.
Ever wondered how seemingly insignificant clues and features on the wreck can help and piece together what happened before the sinking? Join Yana’s talk to be immersed in the thrilling story of discovery and exploration.

The GO Diving Show
The GO Diving Show – the only consumer dive and travel show in the UK – returns to the NAEC Stoneleigh on 1-2 March 2025, just in time to kick off the new season, and promises a weekend full of interactive, educational, inspirational and fun content.
As well as the Main Stage – this time headlined by TV star, author and adventurer Steve Backshall, making a welcome return to the GO Diving Show after a few years away, along with NASA-trained NEEMO Aquanaut and Head of Scientific Research at DEEP Dawn Kernagis, fellow TV presenter, author and perennial favourite Monty Halls, and the dynamic duo of explorers Rannva Joermundsson and Maria Bollerup, who will be talking about their recent Expedition Buteng in Indonesia – there are again dedicated stages for UK diving, technical diving, underwater photography and inspirational tales.
Along with the stages, there are a host of interactive elements – the ever-popular Cave, the giant trydive pool, the immersive virtual reality tech-wreck dive, breath-hold workshops and lining-out drills and, new for 2025, your chance to try your hand at wreck mapping with the Nautical Archaeology Society and their ‘shipwreck’ – all scattered among an ever-increasing array of stands from tourist boards, manufacturers, training agencies, resorts, liveaboards, dive centres, retailers and much more.
This year also sees the NoTanx Zero2Hero competition taking centre-stage. This competition, aimed at newbie freedivers, will see an initial 12 candidates undergo training with Marcus Greatwood and the NoTanx team in London in late-February. Then five selected finalists will compete at the GO Diving Show over the March weekend, including static apnea sessions in the pool, to find the overall winner, who will get a week-long trip to Marsa Shagra Eco-Village, courtest of Oonasdivers.
