#ASKMARK Hello Mark, while out diving recently I talked to an experienced diver who was diving with twins but did not have any manifold on them, i.e. each cylinder had a first stage with a primary and an SPG. One cylinder had the low pressure inflator for his BC. What are the pros and cons of a manifold setup versus independent twins?

For a new mask, sit in moderately hot water (to soften the silicone film), do the toothpaste scrub, repeat until when you put the mask on & breath out though your nose there is no fog. Do not use defog, shampoo, or any liquid prior to dive will end up with that in your eyes regardless, that includes washing sun tan lotion off ya face😎

Hi, I’ve been following this channel since last year and everything in the videos has always been spectacular. The diving sessions are great, the quality is fantastic, the explanations are very clear… this channel is absolutely brilliant and you helped me a lot with the majority of my curiosities about the world of scuba diving and oceans, thank you so much. Anyway, I would like to make a suggestion (if it’s not a problem): I’m convinced that you can add a really funny video on your channel to show some of the funniest things happened during scuba diving, it can be something like a “oops and bloopers” compilation. For example, you could make a compilation of all of the moments where scuba divers get “caught” on video while peeing in the water (my uncle relieved himself in a scuba diving session and that was hilarious, he always says there are 2 types of divers: those who pee in the water and those who lie), what do you think? I’d be so so happy to watch it, let me know, bye!

Not necessarily – we did this video as we’d had questions about cleaning your mask pre-dive, and preparing a new mask.

I tried the lighter and it worked. I was worried but was told not to as they make oven mitts from silicone do it’s hard to hurt with the lighter

I have seen the silicone on masks melt like a candle when people have used a lighter, so not sure if there are different consistencies of the material for the over gloves.

Baby shampoo is what I use before each dive. Works all the time

I agree. A 50/50 mixture of baby shampoo and tap water works like a charm. The ingredients are inexpensive, easily sourced and the results are better than some store bought defoggers that I’ve tried in the past.

Agreed. Plus it’s tear free. So it doesn’t irritate your eyes.
