#ASKMARK Hello Mark, while out diving recently I talked to an experienced diver who was diving with twins but did not have any manifold on them, i.e. each cylinder had a first stage with a primary and an SPG. One cylinder had the low pressure inflator for his BC. What are the pros and cons of a manifold setup versus independent twins?

That’s not a good review, the system is hardly shown. E.g. talking about the screen being good readable under direct daylight, but I would have expected the system then to be shown in that very scenario and not just a guy talking behind a counter.

For the price this is the best ROI dive computer especially for a backup. The key point for me was the missing advanced and technical dive feature I would never use. So why pay the money. Great review sir!

This guy is not reviewing the i300r, instead he is giving a speech about basic knowledge how to choose a dive comp

Brought one and just had it completely die on me after 5 dives. Battery went low after finishing a dive plugged it in and now it is DEAD. Brought it to my dive shop and we tried a new charger…no change…Tried my charger on a new i330 and it worked great. Hopefully it can get resolved.

I love the computer except it has a very glary screen if diving with a lot of sunlight. Down deep the screen is very visible but if you are 20 feet down you have to turn your wrist and look at the screen from an angle to see it clearly. This definitely could be an issue when doing safety stops at 15 feet. :(

I hope that you were able to get a satisfactory resolution.

I won’t consider Aqualung watch. Because I just bought one i330r and had problems after updating firmware 1.004. It had black screen and can’t boot up. Even can’t be recharged. Seems like no one can help me. Retailer say this is my problem. Aqualung website never reply my question. This watch just like junk after 2 hours I have it. So disappointed with Aqualung.

Just had the same thing happen to me :( Took the watch to my local dive shop and they are pursuing it with Aqualung.

I’m sorry with your issue But thanks for sharing this, helping me to decide not to buy this dive comp. I better look into the oldschool badass diehard used Suunto Stinger

There was a recall on this model last year about leaking problem?

Yes, that happened after we’d reviewed it, but I believe that issue has been rectified now.

Mine is a post-recall unit, so no problems there. As a recreational diver, all I can see missing is a compass—but at this price point, its amazingly bright screen (that can be dialed down; I set mine at 40% and it’s still nicely bright) and other capabilities makes it the best I’ve seen at the entry-level price. The NATO strap is extremely secure, but may not be for everyone. Me, I like the security. Note that when adjusting the strap, do it wet at it tends to stretch from its dry state.

I Just purchased mine as well. first dive watch as I’m a new Diver. I hope mine is post recall. I bought it new from a reputable Dive Shop. If there a way to know for sure?

I just bought the Aqualung i330r dive computer and will be taking it on a trip to Cozumel next week. I live in the United States in Colorado at an elevation of 6,000ft and the elevation on the watch shows “SEA” for sea-level. It’s been on for hours and shows same thing, I wonder if it’s suppose to adjust automatically?

@Jason L what happened with that issue? Did it resolve itself? Or did you manage to somehow resolve it? If so, how did it perform during your trip, are you happy with it?

@SpartanThe300th Thermopylae It did resolve itself, ended up returning the unit though because of the recall. Apparently there’s a leaking issue and Aqualung issued a recall for this model.

@Jason L Thaks for the quick reply mate. 👍 Just found out about the recall myself.
Well that’s a shame. I hope you at least got to dive it on your holiday and did not end up having to rent!

I ordered the i330r at the middle of August, it took so long to arrive because of that leaking issue, but today finally received the call telling me that I can pick it up. So excited to try it!

Was wondering for it’s size would it still be practical to wear as a wrist watch as well?

You could, though it’s quite a large watch. Personal choice—try it on!
