#AskMark What do you think about Vindicator type valve wheels that show green when open and red when closed? Worthwhile or not so much?

Why is the AS called an Octopus?
Whoa, screw driver? Or turnscrew?

Hey Mark. The family is taking a 7 day trip to a tropic location(humid). We are using 3mm wetsuits and will be diving 5 days. What are your suggestions so we are not having to put on a wet wetsuit every morning? Thanks for the help.
Turn them inside-out and hang them on the widest hanger you can find.
It doesn’t matter if the outside of the suit is still damp so, focus on drying the part that touches your skin. After the dive, take your suit off, turn it inside-out and hang it up somewhere with a breeze. It can be in the sun for a short time but, I wouldn’t leave it in the sun for too long

Hi Mark, looking for new pair of fins and as a Mares fan I ended up stucked between Avnati Quatros and X-streams.Which of these would you recommend for recreational scuba diving as a universal and durable fin ? Thanks Michal.
For durability I’d choose the Quattros every time. The X-Stream’s are efficient but, I’m not a big fan of hinges.
The Avanti Quattros are a classic design that work in a wide range of situations and they’re one of the best all-rounder designs today. Given the choice, I’d choose the Avanti Quattro
@Scuba Diver Magazine Thanks a lot. Also thanks for your great videos which are really useful and interesting – respect !!!

Hi mark, looking at purchasing a new diving hood for UK diving (April-October). With no experience with hoods and a sea of them out there which one would you recommend? P.S. will be used with drysuits.
Many thanks
Corley
Yeah, there’s a surprising amount of clever tech that goes into hoods. Most drysuits come with a hood but, there are better hoods out there.
For drysuits I prefer bibless hoods, the extra neoprene just folds up in my experience so, I dive bibless hoods with my drysuit.
5mm is all you really need diving over here, any thicker and you lose your hearing and they’re just clunky.
I dive a mixture of brands from Fourth Element, Waterproof, Mares and Bare hoods. Look for stretchy neoprene and vents on top. Fancy linings are good but not essential and don’t trim the face seal until you’re sure you need to.
I wouldn’t worry too much, once you have the right size, you can’t go too far wrong with hoods.
👍😎🤿interesting
I think this is a cool invention, but I think an option for people with red-green weakness or red-green color blindness would be great, so maybe with black and white, or yellow and blue rings or something like that. And thank you for another great video, I like these #askmark videos a lot :)
