#ASKMARK Hello Mark, while out diving recently I talked to an experienced diver who was diving with twins but did not have any manifold on them, i.e. each cylinder had a first stage with a primary and an SPG. One cylinder had the low pressure inflator for his BC. What are the pros and cons of a manifold setup versus independent twins?

You spreading the “ don’t press the purge button” myth. 😂
If you hold the unpressurised 1st stage above the height of the water it can’t defeat gravity. Then remove from water, press purge and shake. If you feel like being particular, pressurise the system and purge. I’m sick of the bs from “experienced” divers.

If people are so worried why nut just disconnect second stage and then no worries at all about pressing purge.

We use a little bit of bleach to sanitize as well. You’re reg has a lot of microorganisms attached. Sanatize especially rental regs. And, previous post….about purging is correct.

Sorry Mark you’re wrong, you can press the purge button when washing your regs and they don’t need to be pressurised. This is an old wives tale! As long as the dust cap is on securely on the first stage no water can enter the hose or the first stage.

Great to see this all in one place, I had seen there were guidelines but hadn’t seen a video on it.
