Probably should be standard equipment. A surface whistle.
A bit overboard, I carry a small hard case with an extra first and second stage.
Mark shows my primary Mask and calls it “a simple frameless mask as a backup”… :( feelsbadman 6:57
First , I want to say thank for all the videos. My kids and I are getting certified at the end of this year and your vids make a huge difference. Can I ask what your recommendation would be for a dive log app, something easy but thorough? Thx again .
CLEAR Dry Bags allow you to see contents and where located.
What! No bolt snaps!
Actually I find having a couple of carabiners to be handy. I do a lot of shore dives and sometimes they can free up your hands by clipping your fins, GoPro, etc, to your bcd when navigating your way down a narrow path, over rocks etc.
#askmark would you consider a ‘stand-off’ stick of say 50-75cm x 10-12mm in diameter with bungie style loop that fits over your hand to ensure you don’t touch coral reefs or anything with ‘do not touch’ significance in say slight drift, current or tidal movements?
I’ve never used one myself, they can be useful for accurate measurements on the go, as most have measurements on them. To point things out I always have my torch so, I don’t have much of a need for one myself
You may find that sticks are not allowed, many Red Sea liveaboards will not allow divers to carry or use a stack apparently because of dome concerns of midge causing damage 14:48
A small sealed dry bag to take your keys etc with you on the dive.
a small knife to help get untangled from a fishing line or kelp if you are diving cold water. (which I never do)
Yep, an Eezycut knife is always a good accessory.
I got a fishhook stuck in me last summer and my dive buddy cut the line for me and helped extract the hook. Now I know how a perch feels.
I second the first part. Something to protect the ears is so valuable. And I also like Ponchos.
Tyre inflation adapter for the inflator hose is in my kit. Many of our dive sites can only be reached by 4×4 cars. If you come back after the dive and see a flat tyre, then the 15€ investment is worth it.
Talc for a dry suit 😅
👍😎🤿 Thanks!!
I don’t go diving without my ear protection oil. My pharmacy mixes it for me. I use it before and after dives.
Secondly I recommend something you can get your buddies attention with. To prevent him from dangers or to show him sth fascinating
Last but not least in northern waters I have a UV lamp to see amber, its fun for night dives, makes plastic and some animals glow, too
