What Are the Best Scuba Diving Accessories?

@sagestuart6169
#askmark what are some of the best accessories for scuba diving? (like heated insoles for drysuit diving)
The best accessories for scuba diving are going to be things like drybags, a good rash vest is really nice. Ponchos are growing in popularity today to wear between dives to keep you warm and dry between dives.
As far as heated insoles I don’t think I’ve ever seen those but, you can get hold of dry gloves with heating elements down each finger for cold water diving but, you do need to be aware of the effects of heating and decompression.

Should I Change My Regulator Hoses Every 5 Years? #askmark #scuba
@jeffmoye
Do Miflex hoses need to be replaced regularly? One service tech I spoke to said they need to be replaced every 5 yrs. can’t find anything on their website or brochure about it so I wonder if it’s obsolete news related to the rubber failure issue they used to have?

Hi Mark, I’ve actually been following you and the team for years.
I myself came into contact with diving since 1982, quite a long time ago, and I still use your videos from Simply Scuba/Dive Save. still very educational and always pleasant to watch.
Now for the first time that I respond here on the internet.
Keep it up, Congratulations on your son (also to your wife and the kennel of dogs hihi).
But please go back to the other format (this is useless).
You are the best, best regards, ScubaBrox. Dive With Fun

Best accessory would be a pelican case for your gear.

Yes if you are diving somewhere where your huge pelican case will not be a problem and take space, if you are diving with CCR pelican case is must for me, but OC is fine in soft bag, just don’t trow your stuff around

Have you guys ever used sharkskin rash vests/ shorts? I really want to try this brand but hard to find

Yeah, SharkSkin can be hard to find in some places. The best thing to do is to find a dealer near you and ask them to get what you’re after in. Even if they don’t have it on their website or on their shelves they might be able to order it in for you. https://sharkskin.com/pages/store-locator

It’s good material though. I haven’t used it long-term but, SharkSkin is a good neutrally buoyant neoprene alternative for diving in warmer waters or layering up

I’m a fan of Sharkskin products.
I wear a long sleeve Sharkskin shirt under my wetsuit while scuba diving and I wear a full sharkskin suit while snorkeling.
I’ve had the shirt for almost 2 years and 150+ dives and it’s still going strong

I really liked the sharkskin zippered rash vest concept but could never get one to fit. I tried every size they made. Those that weren’t too tight to zip were really baggy across my chest. The guy at my local dive shop said that was a common problem so I recommend you try it on in person if at all possible.

Loving the videos thanks Mark. I do not like this new narrow format your using for the videos though. Please go back to proper full size.
