What Is The Best Way To Clean Your Scuba Diving BCD or Wing?

***** THANK YOU FOR WATCHING *****
What are some of your cleaning tips?
Leaving something to dry outside in the UK?
Good luck with that. It rains every 5 minutes.
Nah, let me check out the window…
Ok, the bathroom is a good alternative. I bought some strong suction cups that you can hang a line from stuck to bathroom tiles.
Which dive rite bcd is that?
How do you inflate your bcd if you have the kidney dump off
How many Liters capacity is the water container you used?
It is a Gear Gulper, so quite big, but I only put five or six inches of water in the bottom, I don’t fill it up. Approx size is: L 710mm x W 46mm x D 380mm
I bought the hose extension that hooks up to the inflator. After cleaning, I spray some food quality silicon on the inflator hose, hook it up, quick pressure and it covers the valve inside and up to the top of inflator hose
Thanks for sharing
I did not know you could unscrew that valve. I wonder what comes out of the BCD with the next cleaning ;-)
At least now you know you can give it a good rinse inside :)
Steve what I do is hang my wing/bcd on the hanger off the tree in my garden. I spray low pressure water all over it with my garden hose. Then, dilute some scented Dettol with water in a spray bottle. Spray the bcd (& yes dry suit, wet suit, smb, gloves, boots, etc) Leave for 10 minutes or so then thoroughly rinse off with the hose. I also spray inside the bcd with inflator hose off & rinse out. The process kills bacteria as well as leaving all my dive gear smelling fresh. Been doing for many years & keeps all my gear looked after. Stops wet boots from stinking. Gear then hung in the shed to drip dry, then inside to air dry & small items go in the cylinder cupboard.
Right, where’s the Dettol! Cheers for the tip!
