#askmark I dive a Bare X-Mission drysuit that has a plastic zipper. So…no wax, wax the end, wax the whole thing? Silicone lube? The internet has all the above suggestions. Do you have a definitive answer?

#askmark. Mark what's the “rule” now? If you have an AI computer and transmitter can you get rid of your analog spg hose or is it still strongly recommended to keep it? Technology is pretty reliable now. What do most AI divers do?

#AskMark Hi Mark, all Twinset configurations I’ve seen, including yours, only have a single SPG. In my mind I assumed that you would need one SPG for each cylinder to give you a reading of pressure in case you need to shut the valve of the other cylinder? Thank you! Rui

Hey Mark, I recently bought a Halcyon H-75p Single cylinder package. I used to dive recreationally, I dive once a month. At the first use it work pretty well. In my second dive when I was testing my second stage the air didn’t flow… I try to push air but it seems that the valve was stuck, I had to blow pretty hard to the valve back to work. Is this normal ? it happen again in my third dive … Maybe i'm cleaning or storing my regulators incorrectly. I really don't know, I always dry the cap before the dives and protect the first stage, I always rinse them and let them dry hang. Can you help me? #askmark #scuba #Q&A | @Scuba Diver Magazine

#askmark Hey Mark, I have 2 questions. What is the most streamline, minimalist BC for sidemount now on the market? And What would suggest for a cold water (8°C), Wetsuit or Drysuit, and which model? I usually use 5mm Wetsuit with water's around 22°C.
Thanks a lot.

#ASKMARK Hello Mark, while out diving recently I talked to an experienced diver who was diving with twins but did not have any manifold on them, i.e. each cylinder had a first stage with a primary and an SPG. One cylinder had the low pressure inflator for his BC. What are the pros and cons of a manifold setup versus independent twins?

I have a transmitter on one side and a SPG on the other side that’s with my manifold backmount. I would like transmitters on my sidemount but can’t really justify the cost. Saving up for my Sidewinder

Use an AI dive computer with twins. Have the transmitter on the right first stage, and the SPG on the left. Problem solved.

Be careful with plastic zippers, only lubricate the end of the zippers, lubricating the entire zipper might introduce dirt or debree and cause leaks

What do you think of dive lights with a push-button switch vs dive lights with a mechanical head rotary switch? Is the head rotary switch more reliable? I’m in doubt between an orcatorch D700 and D710.

For podcasts – I loved the deco stop podcast so would love something similar/the same as that. Preferred it when it came out on a Saturday morning – like listening to it with my morning coffee!

Hi Mark, any thoughts on the AP Diving TekWing? It looks like a good option for someone starting out on a single cylinder but with the option to grow into twin cylinders. Or would you recommend looking more at the single cylinder specific xDeep wings? Is there any disadvantage to having so much lift if you’re only diving with a single cylinder? Really interested to hear what you think! #AskMark

#askmark Hi Mark, would you consider cavern diving as recreational or technical diving? Interesingly PADI offers the cavern diving course as a rec specialty, and SSI as tech (part of extended range). Normally PADI and SSI courses are interchangeable; but would this still be the case for cavern diving? Also, could it be that a DC does not accept PADI for cavern diving because they qualify it as tech? Lastly, do you have experience with cavern diving? Any stories to share:) Thanks for your thoughts!

Hey Mark,
I have a question about a specific drysuit. What can you say about Seal drysuit, by xdeep, or can you do a review? I looked and there were only a few forum reviews… Thank you in advance!
Keep up with your excellent work :)

A lot of dive boats will require an analog SPG with a AI Transmitter

XDeeps don’t actually have a trapezoidal bladder. All three Steath wings basically have the same bladder shape just in different sizes, it is just the rec & tec have that sort of protective cover over it.

is an spg such an inconvenience to carry unless you need the hp port? i don’t see why you wouldnt’ still carry one.

#askmark on the topic of sidemount. Here in the southern region of the United States we do a “Mexico setup” and a “Florida setup” main difference being that Florida utilizes bolt snaps on a leash as opposed to bungees. Any different styles in your region?

I’d recommend the Razor for a minimalist wing. It’s more minimalist than the xDeep and Hollis yet still capable for all kinds of sidemount diving.

There is a lot that comes out on Monday and Friday, so I would prefer a Tuesday or Wednesday release. I would also like to hear more detail into more technical course’s.

I’m getting a transmitter on Monday for my D5, trying it out in Jordan next month but I will still dive with my SPG going forward.

100% , I’m usually just tackle my spg into space behind my pocket on BCD , out of the way and if i need it i can pull it out. I was diving in Dominican Republic and my transmitter battery died towards the end of the vacation, so i used SPG.
Otherwise my diving would be finished.

A Fridays podcast with two presenters would be a great, may it be two dive professionals like the two Marks or a pro and a „less proficient scuba enthusiast“(Hi Shawn! 😉).
