Join ghost-net divers at Winter Warmer
An invitation has gone out to scuba divers who might be considering getting involved in underwater operations to remove ghost-fishing gear in the UK but are unsure how to set about it.
They are welcome to join the Ghost Fishing UK team for its “Winter Warmer” taster weekend at the National Diving & Activity Centre (NDAC) inland dive-site at Tidenham in Gloucestershire on 5/6 January.

Tickets for the weekend cost £25pp and include ghost-gear retrieval taster workshops and demonstrations (early registration is recommended for these), Saturday evening hog roast & barbecue, guest speaker presentations, open forum, video screenings, bar, raffle, auction and competitions.
Diving at NDAC is half-price for ticket-holders (£9).
Minimum scuba qualification is Sports Diver / Rescue Diver or equivalent plus nitrox and a minimum of 50 logged dives.
Divers must be drysuited (surface temperatures at NDAC are likely to be around 6 degrees C), bring their own serviceable open-circuit equipment and be medically fit to dive.
