Four nights in Komodo
Emperor Divers Indonesia has put its researchers to work and has identified a demand among some guests for – hang on to your hats – less diving!
It says that this demand is for mini-cruises that are more “exploration/cruise-focused” with less diving, more touring/trekking, with land excursions and water sports suited to non-diving partners or friends.
They want non-diver discounts, opportunities for non-divers to get an affordable taste of the sport; and the ability to combine mini-cruises with twin- or even multi-centre destination holidays in Indonesia.
A bit late for this year, but perhaps one to think about for 2020 is “Komodo Dive & Explore”, a new five-day itinerary offered by Emperor between July and September.

Designed to showcase highlights of the area, including two “easy” dives a day and the chance to see Komodo dragons and take part in other activities, the itinerary accommodates up to 12 divers, snorkellers and others aboard the schooner-style liveaboard Emperor Raja Laut.
All-inclusive prices (with nitrox) started at £1289 pp (two sharing) this year, with a £130 non-diver discount plus 10% off for early bookings.
