If you like to keep your phone and tablet with you at all times, including the dive-boat, you can take the drybag route or opt for a case that claims to maintain the instrumentâs functionality â typing, browsing, making calls, taking underwater photos.

Back-rolling into the water – by this stage, you want to be sure that all’s well with your equipment.

SwimCell cases come in five sizes and five colours and are claimed to meet the highest waterproof rating IPX8, with every unit tested to 10m or 20m before packing. Rotating two twist-lock wheels between thumb and finger opens or closes the case, says Cornish manufacturer Amy Day. Standard phone cases (illustrated) cost £13.99, rising to £24.99 for a large tablet case.

Do Miflex hoses need to be replaced regularly? One service tech I spoke to said they need to be replaced every 5 yrs. can’t find anything on their website or brochure about it so I wonder if it’s obsolete news related to the rubber failure issue they used to have?
