Deptherapy is now offering RAID instead of PADI diving qualifications to its programme-members.

The scuba-diving charity, which works to rehabilitate UK armed-services personnel and veterans who have suffered life-changing mental and/or physical challenges. is now registered as a “RAID Dive Centre”.
From its next Red Sea training expedition in September it says that it will adopt the agency’s training model, with its instructor trainers, instructors and divemasters required to cross over to RAID.
RAID is to provide free training materials and certifications to Deptherapy programme-members, and has pledged to support the charity with marketing and fund-raising initiatives, says Deptherapy. The organisations will also work together in developing adaptive training materials.
“We have been working closely with RAID since the beginning of the year and we view our transition to become part of the RAID family as allowing Deptherapy & Deptherapy Education to grow and develop within the diving community,” said Deptherapy Chairman Richard Cullen who, under the new arrangement, will become a RAID Instructor Trainer.
“The package we have been offered by RAID is exceptional and in return we will provide our expertise in adaptive teaching to RAID.”
“The charity’s work is world-class, and the RAID system will provide a high-quality and a modern online platform for their divers, future development needs and global diving adventures,” said RAID Business Director James Rogers, who recently spent a week on expedition with the charity to see the “extraordinary and life-saving transformational work undertaken by the Deptherapy team”.
