Deptherapy is an incredible micro-charity that does so much life-changing work for its beneficiaries, and so it is desperately disappointing that the organisation is closing its doors at the end of August this year.
However, while it is sad that the charity is ceasing, there is still the opportunity for the team to ‘complete that final mission'. What is this final mission, you may ask?
Simply, completing the circle and have the beneficiaries that the charity has helped by teaching them to dive with the Deptherapy model, developing them to instructors so that they can continue the work beyond the life of the charity. That dream can come true this summer as five candidates are on the RAID Instructor Training Programme right now.
The charity is so close to completion of this last mission, it just needs to raise the funds to see the five through to the final examination.
Pharaoh Dive Club and Roots Red Sea have been a long-term supporter of Deptherapy, and have witnessed the life-changing work first hand and have been proud to do what they can to help.
So, on Friday 3 March, Pharaoh Dive Club has organised a charity party to help raise these final much-needed funds at the Village Hotel in Coventry (handily just down the road from the NAEC Stoneleigh, which is the venue for the GO Diving Show on 4-5 March, so why not make a weekend of it?).
Doors open at 7pm for a drinks reception in the Inspiration Suite, with live music from Emma Gale, and the main auditorium opens its doors at 7.30pm for the guests to take their seats for a sumptuous hog roast buffet dinner.
Richard Cullen will host a fascinating and moving Deptherapy presentation on the journey of the charity, and then at 9pm, let the party start!
Garry and the Assorted will take over and have the room bouncing until the early hours! Doors close at 1am.
