A diver has found more than 300 coins and other items from the seabed that lay beneath the iconic Plymouth Pier, which was a Victorian wonder until it was bombarded in the Blitz and subsequently demolished.

Bozena Johnson was first alerted to the treasures laying on and in the sediment by a local swimmer, and she found her first arcade token during a freediving session.

Since then she has found coins from many different countries – including France, China, Spain, India, Africa, Ecuador, Jersey and Ireland – as well as various arcade tokens, medallions and even a Victorian ring.

The 43-year-old treasure hunter has accumulated more than 300 items during her dives off Plymouth Hoe, and intends to pass them on to her family, with the hope they will one day end up in a museum.
