Larger accommodations promising more elbow room combined with scenic beach and ocean views are what Wakatobi’s Turtle Beach Bungalows are about.
If you've ever said “I need my space,” then Wakatobi's newest residences are for you. Set amidst palms on their namesake beach, the Turtle Beach Bungalows are a jumbo-sized take on the resort's popular Ocean Bungalows.

For those not familiar with the resort, Turtle Beach is a scenic stretch of sand located at the southern end of the property. This setting is on a more secluded section of the resort on a large expanse of beach, but just a short stroll to the Longhouse, restaurant, and dive center.
Wakatobi's decision to add new accommodations was made after experiencing periods of peak demand that sometimes exceeded the resort's capacity. Rather than increase the property's options with hotel-style rooms to accommodate more guests, the Wakatobi team stuck with their personalized bungalow model, then stepped things up a notch.

Floor plans for the Turtle Beach Bungalows mirror existing designs, and buildings are similarly constructed from sustainable local materials by local workers. Interiors feature the same rich woodwork and offer a full range of modern comforts. The difference is in the dimensions, as both sleeping, and relaxation spaces are some 20 percent larger than those of the Ocean Bungalows.

Even more expansive are the bathroom and shower areas. The enlarged indoor bathrooms of the Turtle Beach Bungalows include double sinks, and large dressing and drying spaces. This area in turn connects to an Asian-style outdoor shower garden featuring a pair of rainfall shower heads and a separate outdoor entrance from the beach. This is an ideal feature for swimmers and divers who don't want to track sand and water through the bungalow.

Couples will certainly appreciate the spacious comforts of the new Bungalows, and a big appeal may be to families, both for the space and the tranquility of the setting. These units can easily accommodate parents and two kids. And for even more room and privacy, Wakatobi has added the first of what may be several two-bedroom bungalows on Turtle Beach.
