The weather gods were kind to Vivian Dive Centre and Duttons Divers over the Bank Holiday weekend and blessed their event with bursts of sunshine and warm temperatures.
There was plenty to keep everyone occupied at Vivian, including the children, who could get their faces painted with marine-orientated artwork, try to hook-a-duck, ferret around in a ‘rock pool', see a real live lobster, or play on a bouncy castle.
Scuba Travel were on hand to dispense dive holiday advice, while Divers Warehouse had some extra-special weekend prices on dive kit and accessories.
There were Discover Scuba Diving sessions for complete novices – and plenty of passers-by took the opportunity to venture beneath the surface of the extremely picturesque quarry – as well as sidemount/twinset and Ocean Reef full-face mask trydives for those looking to spice up their diving life with something a little more techie.
Many qualified divers headed into Vivian for a bimble, and PADI Course Director Emily Petley-Jones, who was at the event to conduct a Member Forum on the Saturday evening, joined yours truly for a guided tour of the site, which was interesting, to say the least, given the vastly changeable visibility!
Duttons Divers were also leading guided dives into the Menai Straits for those who fancied something a little saltier.
Miss Scuba UK Hannah Higgins (above centre, with Duttons Divers' Clare Dutton and PADI's Emily Petley-Jones) was also exploring Vivian for the first time, and we encountered her and her buddy in the shallows.
