Buddy Dive Academy has announced the launch of its new Partner Referral Programme, an initiative designed to strengthen partnerships across the diving industry while supporting the development of future PADI professionals.
The programme rewards dive centres, travel partners, and other industry professionals who refer Divemasters and Assistant Instructors to Buddy Dive Academy’s Instructor Development Course (IDC). By creating a collaborative referral network, Buddy Dive Academy aims to make professional instructor training more accessible to aspiring dive professionals around the world.
Many dive centres successfully train recreational divers and Divemasters but do not have the resources to offer an Instructor Development Course or employ a PADI Course Director. As a result, talented dive professionals are often required to seek instructor training elsewhere. The Buddy Dive Academy Partner Referral Programme offers these businesses a trusted solution, allowing them to continue supporting their students’ professional growth while benefiting from a long-term partnership with Buddy Dive Academy.
Importantly, the programme is designed to complement – not compete with – existing IDC Centres. Rather than targeting facilities that already conduct instructor training, the initiative focuses on supporting dive centres and partners that do not regularly offer IDC programmes themselves.
Through the referral programme, participating partners receive Buddy Dive Travel Credits for every candidate who enrolls in and starts an IDC at Buddy Dive Academy. The reward structure increases with the number of successful referrals made throughout the calendar year, encouraging long-term collaboration while providing partners with valuable credits that can be redeemed for accommodation, dive packages, staff travel, group bookings, and future reservations at Buddy Dive Resort.
“Our goal is to create partnerships that benefit everyone involved,” says Rosie Alvelais Crocker, Course Director at Buddy Dive. “By helping dive centers provide a complete professional pathway for their Divemasters and Assistant Instructors, we are investing in the future of the diving industry while strengthening the relationships that have always been at the heart of Buddy Dive.”
The launch reflects Buddy Dive Academy’s continued commitment to professional diver education and career development. With decades of experience training PADI Professionals in the Caribbean, the Academy has helped hundreds of divers progress from Divemaster to Instructor and beyond. The new referral programme builds on that legacy by creating an international network of partners who share the same commitment to developing highly trained diving professionals.
The Partner Referral Programme will be promoted through Buddy Dive’s global network of travel partners, dive centres, industry publications, and professional events. In addition to direct partner outreach, the programme will be supported through digital campaigns, trade shows, and industry media to encourage participation from dive businesses worldwide.
As the programme grows, Buddy Dive Academy expects it to generate new opportunities not only for aspiring instructors but also for the businesses that support their professional journey. By working together, partners can help remove barriers to instructor development while strengthening connections within the global diving community.
Dive centres, tour operators, travel agencies, and industry professionals interested in joining the Buddy Dive Academy Partner Referral Programme can learn more and register through Buddy Dive Academy, or by contacting the Academy directly.
