Dauin in the Philippines, widely regarded as one of the world’s premier macro diving destinations, will host a dedicated underwater photography workshop in June 2026, led by French-Australian photographer Nicolas Remy.
The week-long trip is designed for photographers aiming to develop their macro skills, with a focus on pushing technical and creative abilities, and portfolio-building. While the destination is best known for its rich macro life, the programme will also include guidance on wide-angle photography, with opportunities to photograph larger subjects and scenic reefs, during trips to nearby Apo Island.

Participants will be based at Silver Reef Dive Resort, an eco-conscious dive resort known for its photographer-friendly facilities, including a dedicated camera room and easy access to a range of macro dive sites located close to shore.
The itinerary includes daily photography presentations and photographic feedback by Nicolas, alongside guided dives conducted in small groups, with a maximum ratio of two divers per guide. The workshop is also structured to help participants prepare for competition shooting, drawing on Nicolas' experience of judging multiple competitions, and winning over 40 international awards.

A key feature of the trip is participation in the Dive Dauin 2026 Festival & Photo Shootout, a local photography event open to a range of experience levels, including beginners. The competition includes multiple categories, covering various themes and offering beginners a chance to stand out, while photographers who previously won awards compete in other categories. This structure gives participants an opportunity to apply newly developed skills in a structured yet informal setting, with the workshop designed to help maximise their chances of success.
The programme will combine pre-festival dives, classroom-style sessions and shooting days aligned with the festival schedule, providing a balance between learning and practical application.

Numbers are limited to 14 participants. Further details, including the full itinerary and booking information, are available via The Underwater Club: https://theunderwaterclub.com/trips/
