The centrepiece of the Celebrate the Sea Festival, which takes place next spring in popular diving destination Manado in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, is a photo-shootout competition, and the organisers tell us they’re keen to see UK photo-shooters take part.
Cash and holiday prizes valued at around US $50,000 are offered to winners in six categories, with the “Master of the Competition” winning $5000 in prizes.
The festival opens on 31 March with a conference and a panel of international speakers, including oceanographer Dr Sylvia Earle, photographers David Doubilet and Michael AW and A Plastic Ocean film-maker Craig Leeson.
Fourteen participating resorts in Manado, Bunaken and Lembeh are offering six-day all-inclusive accommodation packages plus 10 competition dives at a range of prices to allow entrants to compare – longer stays can be negotiated individually with the resorts
