Freediving guru and technical diver Kirk Krack will be taking to the Main Stage at the GO Diving Show in March, and his presentation that incorporates these two topics as well as underwater living and Hollywood movies promises to be compelling viewing.
Kirk will be joining a host of star names on the Main Stage, including TV presenters Andy Torbet, Monty Halls and Miranda Krestovnikoff (the latter two making a welcome return after a one- and two-year hiatus from the show), world-record technical diver Jarrod Jablonski, powerboat champion and stunt performer Sarah Donohue and underwater photography master Alex Mustard.
Kirk Krack
Kirk is a multi-disciplined diver, having reached the highest levels of technical and mixed gas diving in the 1990s before turning his attention to freediving and forming Performance Freediving International (PFI).
Having developed one of the earliest freedive specific educational systems in January of 2000, he has trained seven athletes to over 23 world records, won the DAN Rolex Diver of the Year Award in 2016 for his focus on freedive safety, continues to train nine different military special operations groups from three different countries, and developed the innovative concept of ‘Technical Freediving’.
In 2017, he was hired by James Cameron to train cast and crew for the recent Avatar: The Way of Water blockbuster.
Kirk now has moved into another career, leveraging his educational experience and multi-disciplines in diving by working for DEEP, the UK-based ocean technology and research company soon to be manufacturing underwater habitats and submersibles. His focus is on developing the Aquon Training programme, a NASA-like 24-month multi-disciplined system training the next generation of undersea explorers.
The GO Diving Show
The GO Diving Show returns to the NAEC at Stoneleigh Park, near Kenilworth, on 2-3 March, this time taking in all three halls and expanding to 10,000 sq metres of exhibition space.
As well as the Main Stage, there are also dedicated stages for UK diving, technical diving, underwater photography and inspirational tales, plus the ever-popular Cave, the giant trydive pool. and, new for 2024, an interactive bouldering wall and a dual VR diving simulator so you and your ‘buddy' can venture off ‘underwater' together, all scattered among an ever-increasing array of stands from tourist boards, manufacturers, training agencies, resorts, liveaboards, dive centres, retailers and much more.
Tickets, which are valid for the entire weekend and include complementary parking, are available now, priced at £25.
