Diving with the world’s biggest shark – and work being done to protect it – will be the focus of Alex Watts’ DIVE 2018 talk.

Visitors to this year’s Birmingham Dive Show will enjoy a unique insight into the highs and lows of our ocean world.

Taking place at the NEC next weekend, DIVE 2018 will see presentations from some of the world’s most expert and well-travelled divers that bring to life the unrivalled underwater experiences now on offer.

But there will also be a focus on threats such as plastics pollution, ghost fishing-nets and the wholesale slaughter of sharks – as renowned diving explorers and image-makers such as Monty Halls, Doug Allan, Paul Rose, Tom (Blowfish) Hird and ‘shark girl’ Madison Stewart present the facts behind the headlines.

DIVE 2018 will, of course, also provide ample opportunities to expand personal diving horizons through training opportunities and dive kit available to browse and buy.

For those with training in mind, experts from the likes of PADI, BSAC, SSI, ,SDI, SAA and IANTD will be offering guiding hands throughout the weekend.

And the New Product Showcase will provide a handy overview of recently-launched items before visitors check out the many suppliers of dive and underwater photo gear populating the exhibition hall.

There will also be a gallery of top underwater prints and two in-hall pools – one dedicated to scuba try-dives, the other to sampling rebreathers.

A further DIVE 2018 highlight will be the free-to-enter draw open to all Show visitors. The prize: a PNG Dive Trip for Two, worth £10,000.

DIVE 2018 opening times are 9.30-6.00 on Saturday 27 October and 9.30-5.00 on Sunday 28 October.

Ticket prices start at just £9.50 per person if booked in advance (a saving of £5 off the on-the-day price of £14.50).
