If you like your dive-gear to stand out, Scubapro has introduced interchangeable colour frames for its C370 regulator second-stage.

“Choose the system that’s unmistakably yours,” suggests the manufacturer, but it’s not just about matching your mood or being tastefully colour-co-ordinated. Scubapro reckons that swapping frames can serve to avoid confusion, whether distinguishing your equipment on the boat or identifying yourself under water.

The optional frames come in six colours and enable you to personalise your regulator in seconds, says Scubapro. The second stage comes in graphite black as standard, and there is also a white version that’s keyed in with a white MK11 EVO first stage. Sold separately, each colour frame costs £8.59.

Though small, the C370 delivers air powerfully, says Scubapro, and has convenient controls in the form of an adjustable inhalation-effort knob, coaxial dive/pre-dive lever and large purge button.

First stages

It is sold in combination with either the MK17 EVO 2 or MK11 EVO first stages. The MK17 EVO 2 is more compact, lighter and also said to be more reliable than its MK17 EVO predecessor or the MK19 EVO, thanks to its forged body and dry chamber with twin-spring layout.

The balanced-diaphragm MK11 EVO first stage is smaller than its MK11 predecessor and has a forged brass body, thermal fins, protective plastic bumpers and a double-spring layout that contributes to overall compactness while again improving on reliability, according to the manufacturer.

The two high-pressure ports are set at a 15° angle for comfortable hose-routeing, and the four low-pressure ports are all high-flow. Scubapro reckons the MK11 EVO / C370 combination should suit both new and established recreational divers, especially those who like to travel light.

The MK11 EVO / C370 White features white bumper, saddle, cap and DIN or INT wheel on the first stage, and a white casing, front cover and exhaust-tee on the second stage. Each stage includes dark grey logos and accents and the new impact-resistant faceplate is colour-customisable.

The standard Scubapro MK17 EVO 2 / C370 costs £465 while the MK11 EVO / C370 is priced at £399, both in DIN or international form and including the White version.
